Meet Jen Ciolino
I'm Jen Ciolino, and I'm running for Newtown Village Council because I believe local leadership matters—especially in times like these.
I've lived in this community for years as a neighbor, a parent, and an active citizen. I've shown up, spoken out, and stood up for transparency, responsibility, and community care. I’ve challenged decisions when needed and worked to build bridges across difference.
Professionally, I’ve spent decades leading complex initiatives, listening to diverse voices, and delivering real outcomes—not just promises. I bring that same mindset to public service: ask questions, listen closely, lead with clarity and care.
I believe leadership is a form of service. It’s not about having all the answers. It’s about being present, being willing to grow, and making decisions rooted in shared values. That’s the kind of leader I strive to be—for my family, for my neighbors, and for Newtown.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I hope to earn your support—and your trust.
Transparency
I believe our local government should be clear, honest, and open with the people it serves. I will ask the hard questions, share the real answers, and ensure decisions are made out in the open—not behind closed doors.
Accountability
Leadership means taking responsibility—both for decisions and their impact. I will own my actions, hold others to high standards, and focus on what’s best for the whole community, not just a few.
Values I Lead With
Respectful Listening
Every voice matters. I commit to listening without assumption, responding with care, and valuing the lived experiences of my neighbors—even when we disagree.
Service Over Status
This isn’t about power—it’s about people. I’m here to serve, not to posture. My job is to lift others up and help build the future we deserve.
